ON THE ROAD AGAIN . . . BEACH & DOWNTOWN TROLLEY SERVICE

HOLLYWOOD, FL
- December 3, 2008 - Beginning today, residents and visitors can hop on the HOTexpress Trolley for the most convenient and economical ride to points of interest in Hollywood’s Beach and Historic Downtown areas.

HOTexpress Trolley service is now available from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday at major beach-area hotels and other key locations to accommodate sightseers and guests at local resorts and small lodgings, as well as locals looking for an easy way to shop, visit the beach or enjoy a night out on the town.

A day pass is a real bargain at only $1, and children under age 5 ride for free.

The HOTexpress Trolley program also has inherent ecological benefits. In keeping with the City’s ongoing effort to establish Hollywood as a recognized "green" destination, the trolleys are intended to reduce vehicular traffic and ease congestion, and also utilize bio-diesel, one of the more environment-friendly fuel options.

Trolleys run from the Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach Resort to North Beach to the downtown arts and entertainment district, where pickup points include the Radius and Van Buren Street municipal parking garages. Route schedules and maps are available at most Hollywood Beach hotels and online at www.visithollywoodfl.org.

The state-of-the-art HOTexpress Trolleys are in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to accommodate all riders, including those in wheelchairs. Strollers also are permitted, but must be folded prior to boarding.

For more information on the HOTexpress Trolley, call 954-980-9777 or visit www.visithollywoodfl.org.
