Celebrating its 16th anniversary, this popular event showcases Latin culture with both traditional

Hollywood Beach Candy Cane Parade – Sat., December 5 (7 to 10 p.m.)
The 54th anniversary of this magical holiday tradition will feature live entertainment and an awardwinning
procession down the auto-free oceanfront Broadwalk with festive floats, high-stepping
marching bands, costumed characters and thousands of candy canes tossed to spectators along a

OceanDance 2009 – Wed.-Thurs., December 30-31 (8 p.m. Wed., 9:30 p.m. Thurs.)
Ring in the New Year with beauty and grace at this breathtaking cultural program featuring
performances by a leading dance company on a seaside stage beneath the stars, with a spectacular
fireworks display at midnight on New Year's Eve. The 11th annual event on Hollywood Beach is
produced by the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood. General admission is free; VIP packages

New Guided Historic and Eco-Adventure Bicycle Tours
Bicycle riding is popular on Hollywood Beach, and now HT4 Kewl Tours is offering "The
Hollywood Trails: Historic and Eco-Adventure Kewl Bicycle Tours." HT4 tours, launched in
January 2009 by Nejila Innerarity, allows visitors and locals to enjoy four very different trails
around Hollywood. HT4 is located at Sun & Fun Cycles on the Beach Broadwalk and Hayes Street.
Traveling along safe bike paths and the beach, HT4 offers 5- to 30-mile rides six days a week. Call

ArtsPark at Young Circle

Historic Hammerstein House Tour – every 1st Sunday, September – May (1 to 4 p.m.)
The house at 1520 Polk St. is shown to the public free of charge by the Hollywood Historical
Society. Designed by prominent Hollywood architect Bayard Lukens in 1935 for Vera and Clarence
"Ham" Hammerstein, the house is a fine example of the style Lukens called "Tropical Modern."

talent, Vickie Pierre’s site-specific installation includes Avon perfume bottles from the 1970s
elegantly paired with vintage Syroco brand sconces.
• Tillamook Cheddar Mid-Career Retrospective 1999-2009 (June 19 – August 16)
Tillamook Cheddar is a 10-year-old Jack Russell Terrier who is widely regarded as the world's
preeminent canine artist. "Tillie," who has had 17 solo exhibitions in the United States and Europe,
uses a dynamic color transfer technique to create her work.
• "It’s a Dog’s Life" (June 19 – August 16)
The Dog Room Collection is a lively and diverse group of dog-themed artwork from the private
collection of Francie Bishop Good and David Horvitz.
