Patty Loveless to headline Red White & Bluegrass festival

There’s going to be some serious pickin’ going down on Hollywood Beach. Country music icon Patty Loveless will headline this year’s Red White & Bluegrass festival, featuring a remarkable line-up of top-notch folk, blues, country and bluegrass artists performing at various stages along Hollywood Beach on the weekend of May 8, 9 & 10, 2009.

Internationally renowned singer Patty Loveless will perform at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 10 on the Main Stage, located directly on the beach just north of the Ramada Hollywood Beach Resort. Loveless will cap off a weekend of family-friendly entertainment by some of America’s most acclaimed practitioners of roots music. Patty Loveless’ music reflects the vital richness of an artist at the height of her powers.

Gifted with an unfailing ear, Patty has enjoyed an amazing 20-year career that has taken her from a coal-mining family in Pikeville, Kentucky to the Opry and the top of the charts. The country music jukebox wouldn’t be the same without her critically acclaimed string of top 10 hits. The CMA has honored has as "Female Vocalist of the Year," and "Album of the Year" for When Fallen Angels Fly, and the ACM has recognized the singer as "Female Vocalist of the Year" for two years in succession. She has received nine Grammy nominations during her distinguished career, most recently in 2008 for "Best Country Album (Vocal or Instrumental)" and "Best Country Collaboration with Vocals."
